Who will be the photographer on our wedding day?

Us – Kate & Luke Gerson. You can read a bit more about who we are on our About Us page, and we’re always available for a chat or to meet up if you’d like to get to know us better.

We understand that trust is a huge part of choosing a wedding photographer – please take a moment to read through some of our many testimonials from happy couples.

What is your photography style?

We have a relaxed documentary style and tell your story through real and candid moments.

Your job is to enjoy your day – we’ll make sure we capture all the celebrations and joy of your wedding.

We also love beautiful backgrounds and landscapes, and when the time is right we’ll help guide you and help pose you in natural and flattering ways that don’t feel awkward and stiff.

We’re constantly thinking about new and unique perspectives and work incredibly hard to deliver photos that will blow you away.

What are your photography packages and prices?

Our wedding coverage starts at $3000, with options to add additional hours, albums and engagement sessions. Elopements – whether it’s just the two of you, or up to 10 guests – start from $850.

Of course, every wedding is different and we are able to tailor our photographic coverage to suit your needs – especially if you are eloping, having a small ceremony or doing something a little bit different.

You will receive fully edited copies of your photos. These are high resolution files that are ready to print.

What's your booking process and how does payment work?

Get in touch so we can check our availability and discuss your wedding plans with you in more detail.

Once you’ve decided that you’d like us to photograph your big day (yay!) we will send through a booking form and ask for a $500 deposit to confirm your date. The balance is due 6 weeks prior to your wedding.

Where are you based and do you travel?

We’re based in Dunsborough, Western Australia. We’re lucky enough to live in an incredibly beautiful region but we also love to travel.

We’re able to shoot your wedding anywhere – as in anywhere in Western Australia, Australia and internationally.

We have previously lived in several places overseas and have had our photos published in books, travel guides and magazines. We love seeing new stuff so get in touch and we’ll see what we can do!

Do we receive digital copies of our photos?

Absolutely. You’ll receive fully edited photos from your day – these are high resolution files that are ready to print.

Your photos are delivered via an online gallery, and if your internet access is terrible we can send you a USB drive if that’s easier.

Your online gallery is protected by a password for your privacy. You can download your complete collection, share them with family and friends, select your favourites for an album and order prints. Your gallery will remain online for 1 year.

How many photos will we receive?

For a full day of wedding coverage you can expect to receive between 400-500 photos, and more if we stay for your reception.

We don’t limit the number of photos we take. After your wedding we go through the photos and delete the duplicates, ones with people blinking etc and and you receive the rest.

Do you edit the photos?

Yes. For all of the photos you receive, we adjust white balance, contrast, exposure, remove spots and perfect the crop. We also convert some of your photos to black and white (B&W).

We don’t provide B&W and colour duplicates of all of your photos. We ask that you trust our selection and creative eye – but in saying that, once you’ve received your photos if there a couple of extra ones that you would like in B&W that’s not a problem at all.

Do you do wedding albums and prints?

Yes. We love designing wedding albums and can also help with large format display prints.

Once you’ve received your wedding photos, we’ll ask you to select a range of your favourites and we will design your album in the way we best feel tells the story of your wedding day. We’ll work together with you to finalise the layout and design.

Can we give you a list of photos we want?

Our style of photography is candid and creative, and working off a checklist of photos isn’t really our style. We like to be present in the the moment and anticipate emotion, so constantly referring to a shot list can hamper us.

But if there is a particular style of photo you want (or don’t want) – definitely let us know and we will work together and make sure you are freaking out about how amazing your wedding photos are!.

Will we receive every image from the day?

No. We believe in quality over quantity and we delete some photos – test shots, where people have their eyes closed and where we take several photos in a series we’ll only give you the best.

How much time do we need for location photos?

We like to spend at least an hour with the couple and bridal party between the ceremony and reception – plus travel time between locations. This is our favourite part of the day. We keep a relaxed and natural vibe when we’re taking photos, and some of the best photos are usually candid and casual moments while we’re just hanging out at a beautiful location.

Keep in mind that it often takes everyone a little bit of time to get comfortable in front of the camera, so if it’s possible to have a bit of extra time that’s even better.

However, if we’ve only got 30 minutes we can still make magic happen. Doing it this way will normally make things pretty fast paced, and will also limit the amount and variety of photos we’re able to capture.

It can be a good idea to organise an esky and some drinks in your transport – that way the bridal party will be kept entertained and you’ll be able to kick off your celebrations too.

What camera gear do you use?

We use professional Canon DSLR bodies and lenses.

How long will it take for us to receive our wedding photos?

Delivery of your images is generally 6 weeks, and depending on our workload we will try to get them to you faster if possible – we know you can’t wait to see them!

Are you insured and do you have backup gear?

Yes and yes. We have public liability insurance, and all of our gear is insured too. We have backup equipment with us at all times, so if something terrible was to happen we can keep shooting and won’t miss a thing.

If your venue needs to see a copy of our insurance, just let us know and we can send through a copy.

Is this your full time job?
